Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 24, 2026
The short version
- Your notes and workspaces stay on your computer unless you choose to share a workspace.
- Your profile is visible to other signed-in Mimyne users. You choose what goes on it.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking.
- Connections to Spotify, Medal, Discord and Steam are off until you turn them on.
- Email us at mimyne.support@gmail.com and we'll delete your account and data.
Who we are
Mimyne is a desktop app for gamers, creators and game builders, published by Wonderma Corporation. In this policy "Mimyne", "we" and "us" mean Wonderma Corporation. Mimyne is not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord, Spotify, Medal, Valve or Google.
Questions or requests: mimyne.support@gmail.com.
What stays on your computer
Most of Mimyne lives on your device and never reaches us:
- Your notes, rooms, connections and canvas layout.
- Media you add (images, video, audio), stored in Mimyne's app folder.
- Your settings and preferences, including which integrations are on.
- API keys and account tokens you give Mimyne (for example your Spotify connection or an AI provider key). These are kept in your operating system's secure credential store (Windows Credential Manager or macOS Keychain), not in plain files.
- Mimyne's local AI memory ("brain") files, which record concepts and context from your sessions so the assistant can learn your style. They stay in the app folder.
- Optional capture tools (such as screen-region capture or clipboard reading) run only when you start them, and keep what they capture on your device unless you send it to an AI provider you set up.
What we store in the cloud, and who can see it
When you create an account, some data is stored with Google Firebase so Mimyne's social features work. Google processes it on our behalf, possibly on servers outside your country.
Your account
- Sign-in: you sign in with email and password, Google, or Microsoft. Firebase Authentication keeps your email address and sign-in details. Your email is not shown to other users.
- Public profile card: your username, display name, profile picture and join date. Your display name and picture may start out as the ones from Google or Microsoft; you can change them. Any signed-in Mimyne user who has your username or account link can see your card.
Your profile page
- What you add: banner, bio, pinned note, songs, a showcased workspace, visual style, and a linked Medal username with pinned clips.
- Approvals and comments that people leave on your profile and clips, including who left them.
- Profile pages are visible to everyone signed in by default. You can change who sees yours in Settings.
Activity you choose to share
- If you turn on activity sharing, Mimyne detects what you're listening to (song, artist, app, cover art) and what you're playing (a running Steam game or a game you added), and shows it on your profile. Each source is off until you turn it on.
- When you open someone's profile, they get a "viewed your profile" notification. This is on by default and can be turned off in Settings.
Friends, notifications and safety
- Friend requests and friendships are visible only to the two people involved.
- Notifications (approvals, comments, friend events, invites, profile views) are visible only to you.
- People you block are visible only to you.
- If you report someone, we keep the report (who reported, who was reported, the reason and details) so we can review it.
Workspaces
- When you're signed in, Mimyne keeps a small record of each workspace you create so it can sync and be shared: its name, tag, image, look and settings, who owns it and who has access. Secret keys are removed before upload.
- The contents of a workspace (its notes, connections and rooms) are uploaded only when you turn sharing on for that workspace. Then they're visible to the people you invite. Values that look like passwords or keys are hidden, but any other text you write in a shared note is visible to those people.
- People you invite can add shared notes and comments. We also record who is in a shared workspace right now, so members can see each other.
- Deleting a workspace removes what it published.
Licenses
If you redeem a license key, we record which account redeemed it and when.
Services you connect
Each of these is optional and off until you turn it on. When you use one, that service also receives data under its own privacy policy.
- Spotify: connecting lets Mimyne read and control what's playing and read or change your saved library. Your Spotify login token stays in your computer's secure credential store. You can disconnect at any time.
- Medal: you enter a Medal username to show that account's public clips on your profile. Mimyne reads public clip information from Medal using an anonymous guest session stored on your computer. Your Medal username, account number and pinned clips are saved on your profile page.
- Discord (activity on your profile): if you turn it on, Mimyne talks to the Discord app on your computer to show "Building in Mimyne" on your Discord profile, and the workspace name only if you choose. Discord tells Mimyne your Discord username so we can show that you're connected; it isn't stored in the cloud. If you keep the "View my Mimyne profile" button on, people who see your Discord activity can open a public page that shows your Mimyne username.
- Discord (account connection): if you connect your Discord account, Discord shares your public profile with us: your user ID, username, display name, avatar, banner, accent color and server tag. Discord's reply also includes some details we don't use or keep, such as items from Discord's Shop. What we keep stays on your computer, and your Discord login token stays in your computer's secure credential store. Only the parts you switch on appear on your Mimyne profile: your Discord picture, display name, banner, server tag and Discord username. We don't ask for your email, servers, friends or messages. Disconnecting in Mimyne, or removing Mimyne from Authorized Apps in Discord, takes what you shared back down and deletes the account from Mimyne.
- Steam: Mimyne reads your local Steam library files to show your games and whether one is running. Nothing is sent to us. Game art loads from Steam's image servers.
- AI: by default Mimyne's AI runs on your computer (for example through Ollama, or models downloaded once from Hugging Face). If you add your own OpenAI or Google Gemini key, the prompts and note text you use with those features are sent to that provider.
- Other tools you start: web search (DuckDuckGo), Wikipedia, GitHub, YouTube previews and Canvas LMS are contacted only when you use a feature that needs them, with any token you provide.
Things Mimyne contacts automatically
- Updates: on launch Mimyne checks GitHub for a new version and asks before installing. GitHub sees your IP address, like any download.
- Fonts: some text styles load from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address.
- Media tools: if you import certain media, Mimyne may offer to download ffmpeg from GitHub. It asks first.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your personal data.
- We don't show ads or use ad trackers.
- We don't use analytics, crash-reporting or tracking services.
- We don't read your private workspaces. Only shared content reaches the cloud.
How long we keep it
We keep your cloud data while your account exists. Things you delete in the app (a workspace, a song, a comment, an approval) are removed from the cloud when you delete them. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and its cloud data within 30 days. We may keep a report about you longer if it's needed to keep people safe or to meet a legal obligation.
Your choices and rights
- Change or remove what's on your profile at any time in the app.
- Turn any connection or activity source off in Settings.
- Email mimyne.support@gmail.com to get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account and all of its cloud data. We'll answer within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR in the EU/UK or CCPA in California), you may have additional rights, such as objecting to processing or complaining to your local data protection authority.
Security
Access to cloud data is enforced by server rules, so people only see what you've shared with them. Keys and tokens are kept in your operating system's secure store. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data, we'll tell you.
Children
Mimyne isn't for children. You must be at least 13, or older if your country sets a higher minimum age for online services. If we learn an account belongs to a child under that age, we'll delete it. Parents can contact us at mimyne.support@gmail.com.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
